Google Maps supports common browsers on Android and iOS devices. The list of supported browsers is available at https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/browsersupport.

Maps created using EasyMapMaker will automatically render in supported browsers. However, not all features are fully supported either due to real estate (screen size) or practicality (downloading files on Tablet devices does not make as much sense as a computer).

The features that do not work on mobile devices are
  • filtering (besides the search box)
  • data exporting (pdf, image, and excel)
  • information below the map
  • text based directions
  • radius filter
  • searching on mobile devices has to be explicitly enabled

Tablet devices do not support the following:
  • data exporting (pdf, image, and excel)
  • information below the map

Creating and editing maps on smartphones and tablets is possible but not recommended and not supported.

One feature that mobile and tablet devices generally support much better than a computer is gps navigation. This feature adds a small blue circle to the location and moves as the device moves. It also allows the route to the nearest pin to be shown.

Add the search box to mobile devices

The search box does not show by default on smart phones due to size issues.  This can be added by clicking on ‘Show Advanced Options‘ then view the ‘Search Box Customization‘ section.  There is an option to enable the search box on mobile devices as seen in the image below.
